The France-China New Media Exhibition kicked off at the Meilun Art Museum in Changsha on April 13, with the theme of "Dissolution of Time: Archaeology for the Future". It is open to the public free of charge until May 26.

The art exhibition is a prelude to the Croisements Festival events in Changsha, which are specially designed to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Promoted jointly by the Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House and the Consulate General of France in Wuhan, the exhibition provides a good platform and channel for Sino-French cultural exchanges.

The exhibition brings together more than a dozen new media art works by nine Chinese and French artists, demonstrating today's new cutting-edge media art forms such as video, virtual reality, interactive art, and game art. The participating artists include French artists Ben Elliot, Jérémy Griffaud, June Balthazard, and Pierre Pauze and Chinese artists Zheng Da, Wu Ziyang, Deng Yuejun, Gao Wenqian, and Wang Shuang. The participants use their unique perspectives to delve into and represent the complex relationship between humans and nature and between technology and ecology in the context of the post-Anthropocene Era. Fictional scenarios of human life in the future are on show, leading people to explore the evolution of lifestyles, social changes, and climate and biodiversity in the post-Anthropocene.
